RAVARINI CASTOLDI & C. is the oldest walking sticks manufacturer of Italy and today the most well known in the world. The RCM sticks can be recognized by the white trade mark fitted in every stem. The company started in 1867 as a workshop set up by Carlo Ravarini (1838-1912) in the now disappeared Milan street "via Tre Alberghi" in the shadow of the Duomo. According to this tradition of craftmanship Carlo Ravarini started manufacturing his famous walking sticks, bringing up generations of workmen, who became in their turn masters to younger apprentices.
Through four generations the Ravarini Castoldi & Company is carrying on the ancient manufacturig skill, keeping faithful to the traditional rigorous taste notwithstanding the never ending technological progress. It is worth noting that a limited number of sticks made by rare materials and identical to the nineteenth century's models are still produced for the amateur. Through three centuries RCM have been granted with many awards from the main universal exhibitions and has been appointed provider of the House of Savoia-Aosta beside actually supplying members of many Royal Families and famous people all over the world.
Since the beginning of the '20s RCM have started-beside the traditional walking sticks the production of modern design complements. In the RCM design collection you can find many different items both for the house and the high range office such as hanging racks, umbrella holders, wall clocks, coffee tables, libraries, displays, CD and DVD holders, mirrors, chests of drawers and cabinets, all made of wood, crystal, metals, methacrylate and many other new materials. Many designers from the world over are collaborating with the internal Technical Bureau of RCM to achieve the best performance and the compromise between avant-garde design and product fruition. Every RCM design item can be recognised by the white trade mark identifying since 1867 the famous RCM walking sticks.
